Official Immersive “WALKING DEAD” Attraction Coming To NJ This Weekend; Nationwide Tour to Follow

,

With a viewership of nearly 20 million, a season premiere held at a sold-out Madison Square Garden and a lucrative merchandising stream including video games, action figures and more, one wonders just how much bigger THE WALKING DEAD can become. However, it was only a matter of time before fans themselves could be a part of the action that is THE WALKING DEAD. Now, thanks to New Jersey’s epic Walker Stalker Con and Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment, WALKING DEAD fans can get apocalyptic with THE WALKING DEAD EXPERIENCE—CHAPTER 1 this weekend, with a full-on nationwide tour to follow in the coming months.

Directed by immersive theater pioneer/director Michael Counts, THE WALKING DEAD EXPERIENCE—CHAPTER 1 will debut from Friday, December 4th through Sunday, December 6th at the Meadowlands in Secaucus, NJ during this weekend’s Walker Stalker Con, the second largest fan convention in the world. Officially licensed and developed with WALKING DEAD creator Robert Kirkman and executive producer David Alpert, the experience received rave reviews during a preview performance at Atlanta’s Walker Stalker Con, and will later travel to Nashville, Jacksonville, Orlando, New Orleans, Dallas, Denver, Chicago, Boston and more cities in 2016.

For the curious or unfamiliar, here’s the official synopsis of THE WALKING DEAD EXPERIENCE—CHAPTER 1…

THE WALKING DEAD EXPERIENCE—CHAPTER 1 is a full-throttle immersive attraction that drops audiences straight into the chaotic and terrifying world of THE WALKING DEAD.  Experienced in small (7 person) audience groups, CHAPTER 1 sends participants on an adventure through the edge of a small town on the night the outbreak hit – the night zombies began their rampage and the social order began to unravel. The experience lasts anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the ticket purchased. Set in over 10,000 square feet of highly produced sets and employing state-of-the-art technology and never-before-seen special effects, this attraction drops theater-goers directly into the action, as they mix with professional actors to evade walkers or join the scores of undead.

The attraction will allow audiences to pick a side in this WALKING DEAD experience, whether it be “survivor” or “walker”, although premium ticket options will offer upgrades such as professional “walker’ make-up and a one-on-one “sole survivor” experience. Furthermore, as one might tell from the title, this attraction will be the first step in a larger WALKING DEAD experience, which will continue in subsequent productions and exist in the expanding framework of THE WALKING DEAD franchise. You can check out the official promotional video for the experience below, and for more information on the event and to purchase tickets, you can visit the official site for the show HERE. Check back for more on THE WALKING DEAD EXPERIENCE here at FANGORIA.com!
