What's up with Nell and her demon baby these days? We'll find out this spring.

CBS Films (who earlier this year released Hammer's THE WOMAN IN BLACK), have announced their acquisition of THE LAST EXORCISM PART II with plans to release March 1, 2013.

Ed Gass-Donnelly's sequel to the Eli Roth-produced, Daniel Stamm-directed faux-documentary about a phony Exorcist and his very real final rites is said to continue where the first left off. "Nell Sweetzer (Ashley Bell) is found alone and terrified in the woods. Back in the relative safety of civilization, Nell realizes that she can't remember entire portions of the previous months only that she is the last surviving member of her family. Just as Nell begins the difficult process of starting a new life, the evil force that once possessed her is back with other, unimaginably horrific plans that mean her last exorcism was just the beginning."

I found THE LAST EXORCISM to be one of the best in the current boom of mockumentary/found footage. It's often eerie, Ashley Bell is terrific and I even loved the very divisive ending. Hopefully, Gass-Donnelly & co. have cooked up something of equal measure.
