FANGORIA Podcast Network: More “ALIEN” Franchise Dissection with “WOMEN IN CASKETS” on “THE RANTS MACABRE”!

,,,

Last week, THE RANTS MACABRE brought aboard Dawn & Jen of the Women in Caskets Podcast for the first part of their ALIEN-centric podcasts, discussing Ridley Scott’s ALIEN, James Cameron’s ALIENS as well as ALIEN: ISOLATION and Ellen Ripley in general. The in-depth discussion touched upon everything from Ripley’s tragic story arc to Scott’s naturalistic (if controversial) approach to direction to the representation of the corporate greed in ALIENS, offering a fantastic introduction to a fun and thoughtful podcast crossover event. Now, that crossover continues with part two of THE RANTS MACABRE’s ALIEN franchise dissection, covering David Fincher’s ALIEN3 and Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s ALIEN: RESURRECTION.

THE RANTS MACABRE hosts Darren & Mindy join the Women in Caskets once again to cover the two more divisive entries in the ALIEN franchise, further discussing Ellen Ripley and the troubled production of the bleak ALIEN3. However, Dawn & Jen unfortunately depart the conversation early, leaving Darren & Mindy to discuss Jeunet’s stylish yet polarizing ALIEN: RESURRECTION by their lonesome. You can check out the FREE episode below, and you can revisit ALIEN3 as well as ALIEN: RESURRECTION on DVD/Blu-ray from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.
